What are these Heathkit speakers?

Utah also made some very similar coaxials, that ribbed cone looks like the one used on a couple of the Utah's as well as the EV TRX's.

I would say those lean toward the "better" side with their horn loaded HF.

Thanks Bowtie.. I could believe Utah easier than EV.. the baskets are just too different for EV.. I figured they would probably sound pretty good.. I was thinking if the price stays cheap, they would go into my garage system and be a nice improvement in sound.. .

BTW.. about those horns.. I was thinking that was probably the reserve, and more than I would wnat to dish out.. but I had no clue the proper drivers cost that much.. WOW...

and FWIW... there is a nice looking pair of A7's up for sale at the regular place.. $900 BIN.. but pick up only.. Cally...

I passed on a pair of these one day locally, and lived to regret it. An auction on the epay ended at around $250. If they are the same ones, they are very efficient speakers at about 102dB. Can't speak for who made them for Heathkit.

I will toss out jensen, the model is like AS-73 or something like that. I have a few pairs of heathkit speakers and most of the ones I have are by jensen. Not all that bad of a speaker but not worth fighting over unless I was to toss a pair out on the bay.

Interesting.. didn't know Jensen made anything for Heathkit...

For 10 beans I'd be all over those pups. They look like Jensen Sigma series to me.

Patience grasshopper... I've learned with e-bay... hopefully someone from here won't undercut me... I found them.... and had to ask... if they stay cheap... "one shot.. one kill"

Cool to hear another Jensen vote.... I'm still hoping for old EV.... kinda rare-er

They went for less than $15.00!! Hope it was you that scored them similost. If they sound anything like my 12" Heath AS-27`s you`re in for a treat. Should sing well with tubes.

I have the AS-183 pair with the round horn in the middle, similar to the Jensen H-223 I believe. What surprised me was the great amount of bass output. They came in some rather big vented enclosures though which probably helped in that matter. I don't use them only because I have way to many other sets hooked up. One day I'll hook them up to a SET and see what I get. I would suspect great imaging from this type of speaker.

I was out of town, and could't get to a computer, so I missed them. I checked them the second I got home last night and was bummin... :tears:
