I recently found these cabinets. They say magnavox on them but i cant seem to find out any further info. They have a cast horn with magnavox lables on them and the drivers seem to be alinco. The drivers are set in a styrofoam shell and then sit inside of a pine cabinet.?. if you have any information on these i would appreciate it. These look to be a kit form of speakers.

I've had a couple of pair of those, salvaged from consoles. The styrofoam created an acoustic suspension cabinet of its own, so the console could be built without worrying about air leaks etc.
I believe the woofers are Fostex, and there are people out there who like them alot, but I don't think the styrofoam cabinet is really large enough to let them do their best. And styrofoam resonates like mad at around 400 hz, if memory serves.
If you try them for your self, the crossover probably would be good to replace -- its horribly cheap, whereas the drivers might be ok.
