What are you Listening To Right Now? - and more

Alrighty! Arcam is in!

At first it wasn’t working. Would not read discs. I discovered this at lunch time but had to go back to work.
So after some grocery shopping and whipping up some Watergate salad I got to investigate the Arcam.
Took it apart and didn’t see anything immediately wrong. Grabbed a CD, watched and listened to the mechanism.
The top load plate wasn’t contacting correctly which threw ERROR on the display. The lift plate is missing a spring. It’s working now but I’ll have to figure something out for the spring.

Verdict is still out on this player. It definitely sounds good. I do love the way it looks though!

Inside of the Arcam. Yes there are two transformers.
Why? I have no idea.

Nice CDP!

I'm pretty sure that my H&D cassette had "Just Me & My Wine" on it.
No big deal now but it was a pretty sweet bonus back then.

Definitely a keeper

Thanks. They hate being locked in the house for sure. The last gig we did was March 18, if memory serves. Looking forward to better times in '21 along with literally everyone else in the world.

I love bragging about my guitar collection. It's so much better than my playing abilities!
My search for the perfect Les Paul resulted in some nefarious spending a few years back. These are the custom shop models that I own L-R: r9, r8, Lifeson Axcess, r0, r4. I also own two Les Paul Classics from 2000 and a Les Paul Baritone. The plaintop r0 (50th Anniv. 1960 reissue) is my favorite. They all came from Wildwood Guitars just down the road in Louisville, CO near Boulder--one of the best guitar shops on the planet. Leave your credit cards at home if you plan on going there.

Les Paul born in Waukesha, Wisconsin. Throughout the downtown area they have custom guitars all over!

I'll say! And big ones at that. Lot of iron in there. Compare that to the players made today that weigh 2 pounds, if that!
