What are you Listening To Right Now? - and more

Hell all, With no music yesterday I did manage to accomplish a reach out to Mark Cerusuola from the podcast that I posted the link for the other day regarding the real business of vintage Hi fi gear on The Beginner Audiophile.

https://www.facebook.com/markceras

I also joined his Vintage Hi Fi group on Fbook. Which is an oasis of no political content allowed and great gear posts and all subjects related to it. I have asked him to stop by our thread and possibly join in the festivities. Hopefully more to follow.
:)
Replying to your post about the Marantz Reel to Reel. I knew they existed, I did not know how few they made. I wonder how many still exist?

My fav VH album without a doubt. Listened to this many times on my way to pickup basketball games. I'd say it worked but I still couldn't dunk, so....

By the way, I saw Dan Rather interview Sammy Hagar the other day. I lost respect for Sammy with the shade he was throwing Diamond Dave. Disappointing.

Never owned Diver Down but borrowed it a ton from my step bro. Great party play.
I’m with ya B Cat

One of my most cherished pieces of vinyl.Probably going too far to say it contains the entire history of western music, but almost.
As we all know, one summit for any system is to reproduce the acoustic guitar. Not as easy as it sounds!
The SQ is sublime with only the body of the guitar broadcast rather than its reflections.
He also transcribes Bach violin pieces for guitar...and they are heavy.

Could be. Not sure what the deal is with Telarc. They have a reputation for excellent recordings, as most people here know. In general, you can’t go wrong if you see the name and grab it. I’ve noticed a couple times that people have mistaken Teldec for Telarc but that’s no bad thing. Teldec’s recordings are also very good. I need some fact checking here but I think they invented the DMM process, which is Greek to me but seems to impress those who know what they are talking about.

I think one of the first digital mastering labs, TELARC it appears to use a digital copy, Covert to analog and produce a new master at the JVC cutting department, They actually make a new metal mother disc, Not easy I’m sure in an 1980’s mastering lab
Anything I see by them I try to buy, Genre doesn’t matter
