What are you Listening To Right Now? - and more

Well, I made it through all four Igor Stravinsky records! It was a lot of classical music to take in at one sitting. Lol
I did enjoy a large portion of it! I can definitely hear its influence on certain sectors of the music industry. Like I had stated, I don't have an actual classical reference point for comparison, but I do like the dynamics of the music itself. I found the experience similar to listening to jazz or progressive music which I find appealing.
Also, I was reading the liner notes of the accompanying booklet and learned a lot about the man himself. I will definitely be coming back to this collection!

For a reference point may I suggest going to the classical period. Even the baroque. Bach was prolific and his music can be found everywhere. YT is full of it. Mozart was the genius of the classical period, though certainly not the only one. The romantic period gives us Beethoven, Brahma, Tchaikovsky, and many others. There is a definite progression of the music from one period to the next. Try some out and enjoy.

There have been discussions on internet sellers several times here lately. Get_importcds is fairly popular and a seller I buy from frequently. Another ebay seller I have discovered is KRAUTROCK.LLC. I have come across that one many, many times! Never even considered picking it up...even though the cover is astounding!
May have to grab it if i cross its path...

Thanks for the pointers...i feel the same way i did when i finally decided i was going to add jazz to my listening vocabulary. Lol
A little overwhelming, but at least i have a couple people giving me direction as oppose to stumbling blindly into the jazz world many years ago! Haha!!

Stravinsky is one of my favorite classical artists. Once I went through my collection and found I liked dynamic Russian (Russian descent) composers: Tchaikovsky, Mussorgsky, etc. - basically all the hard to spell guys.

Go figure.
