What are you Listening To Right Now? - and more

So I live in a basement walkout apartment, The wall my headboard is on shares the wall with the washer and dryer in the laundry room. One of my neighbours decided to start laundry sometime after 10:30. I'm just hoping they don't plan on running the dryer afterwards.
I discovered I was incorrect. l woke up a couple hours later I was still hearing the noise. I then realized it was the pump in the tank that holds the grey water normally once the contents reach a certain level in the tank a float switch kicks in and the contents are pumped to street to level into the city system. Well the float switch stuck and the pump was running continuously I unplugged it.

I lived in apartments/duplexes for my whole Naval career....so as I retired rented a single house unit, then bought my own home here in Louisiana. I don't think I could go back to "sharing" a wall anymore.

I'm not built for apartment living , maybe 6 or 7 years of my life I lived in apartments , not much for HOA's either.
To tell you truth...when I was single it was pretty cool. Most of us were single and would come out and sit on the big balcony on the weekends, cook out and listen to tunes or watch some game on a tv....hang out and have a great time. I am too old, too grumpy, too set in my ways to deal with it now.

Well thankfully I don't share any walls with neighbours. The laundry room is on this same level which makes it great in winter. My ceiling is another person's floor. :D I rarely hear anything from above me.
