Every now and then on another message board to which I subscribe, a thread on the Everly Brothers comes up. It was started in 2021 and now stretches to 20 pages. A week ago just reading it, prompted me to order this record on eBay from a guy who buys and sells a lot of records and it arrived yesterday.
It was only £4.15. The record was released in 1960 and although it was a bit worn, there were no scratches.
Anyway.. I played it on my jukebox, recorded it and I put it on YouTube.
What made me smile, was written on the record label was the name "Ken."
"Back in the day," there's been no need to do it now, nor for decades, kids would let others borrow their records, either just to play, or record them on a reel-to-reel tape recorder. This record pre-dates cassette recorder/players by at least ten years.
"Ken" obviously valued this record and took care of it. He may be well gone by now, but his name and his record, "live on."
After uploading the record I got an automated email from YouTube with some information.
So if you are reading this in either Russia or Belarus, you won't be able to watch the recording.
I'll now go back and carry on watching the tennis on TV.
