Heartbreaking I’m so sorry Brother.What a weekend,
We took Benji and Charlotte in to the vet on Friday, I was super hesitant to take them as their heart cond. can cause them to have a heart attack due to the stress. I did give them meds prior to going to help keep them calm but that did not seem to help much.
We got them home on Friday evening and they were acting normal, or as normal as can be after going to the vet. They were a little loopy from the meds but seemingly happy to be home.
Late Friday evening when the meds were getting out of there system, I noticed Benji was breathing a little fast. He did not seem to be in any distress, but I could tell he was breathing at a higher rate than normal.
I ended up, giving him his heart medications and just kept an eye on him. On Saturday it was still elevated but he was acting normal, but was wanting to hide whenever we moved through the house. I knew he was still scared that he was going to "get got" and taken back to the vet. It takes him a few days to rebound from the vet.
Saturday evening he was breathing really hard and fast, I was really worried about him, but I did not want to take him back to the emergency room as I knew it would just add more stress. I knew some time would help and his medications needed to kick in. Saturday evening I had cameras all over the house set up to keep an eye on him. We woke up on Sunday and his breathing was slowing up, I gave him more of his Lasix to help remove water from the lungs and he improved even more.
This morning as I left for work I could tell he was still a little scared of getting got, our backpack sound like his carrier but he is starting to get back to normal.
We realized that he and Charlotte and Hunter will never go back to the vet again, and that we would need to use a home care vet. We have a good one but they are not cheap. Just really hits me in the heart to know they are aging and starting to show it. They are the 1st pets i have ever bonded with. They are doing good now and all back to playing and listening to music with me.
Sunday was a day of just monitoring him and loving him up, his breathing is back to normal and he has been super active.
My stress levels started to drop, then my wife comes in from out back and tells me my Dad has been trying to call my cell. Turns out one of my sisters (I have 4) said her house had burnt down.
They lost everything, one of their dogs was in the house at the time as well. My nephews are taking it really hard. I am just at a total loss.
Her and my Brother in law are just devastated. They live in a rule area out in Pioneer/Jackson, and decided to take the boys to a local farmers market for the day, and shortly after getting there one of the neighbors called her and said that the house was on fire.
By the time they got home everything was gone, the FD said that whatever happened it was fast and hot, the neighbors said it was an explosion. They are still trying to figure out what could have caused it.
Just trying to help them as much as I can right now, just a lot of waiting and trying to understand what happened. The only thing they can think of right now is that the local electrical company had shut their power off last week but it was back on on Friday, but they were still working in the area. I just feel so bad for them. I offered to drive up and help with anything but they said they are not allowed on the property yet, so we sent them some $$ and told them to let us know when we can go up and see them. Just a really stressful weekend... UGH.
Oh that is definitely devastating news especially from a family member. I hope your sister and BIL have home insurance and the cause of the fire is determined quickly. The decision to go to the farmers market could have saved a family tragedy. My heartfelt thoughts go out to your sister's family and yourself @jobrewer1983What a weekend,

I used a couple different unloaders (Donjoy) for skiing and such and they were fairly effective. It was the day to day moments that got me when I wasn’t being careful, made me lose days sometimes for basically nothing.while my knee is not close to yours, do you have something like this?
Hinged Knee Brace | GenuTrain S | Bauerfeind Hinged Knee Brace | GenuTrain S | Bauerfeind
does a good job unloading the knee some.

Solo Jet Ski ride from Washington State up into Alaska. A lot of it across open ocean.
I had to catch a shot of him playing in the iceburg field at a glacier.
UnFckIngBelievable journey but the video's over 90 minutes.
