What Budget Platter Mat Do You Like? DIY?

It is a Wilson something or other mat. I'll let you know what it is when I get home. (Memory is failing me today.)

There were a couple pieces of it at my office when I bought the building. No idea where it came from originally.
 
While the rubber mat on my 1229 was okay, I prefer a cork mat. Mine is a "Vinyl-Style" mat which runs about $30. Static isn't a problem as I don't have electric heat.

I zap before I play - approx. a foot from the record surface. I only use the zero on severe issues; it seems to do ok on my minor static problems (but I do miss the sound of my bare metal platter, however.)
 
On my Rega P3 I like an acrylic mat in place of the felt mat that created a lot of static problems. On my Dual 1019 I like a 4 mm cork mat I made from a cork tile (cost about $1.00) also helps with VTA (used along with an Aluminati record weight ). On my Lenco L75 I like the original rubber mat, works fine with a Mitchell clamp.
 
Heavy rubber OEM or hard acrylic are the answers for anti-static in the dry winter, IMO. Tried many, many mats and that's where I finished. Main player heavy rubber, lots of static in the winter but no "cling-lift", hard acrylic on the rest and also no "cling-lift". YMMV.
