What do I have here?

I recently picked up a preowned but well cared for Shanling SCD-T200 CD/SACD player. The seller added some additional tubes in the box.

I have one pair each of the following.

Western Electric 396A
General Electric JAN 5670W

Are either of them worth the trouble to install them?

Every system and every piece of gear is different, you won't know till you try them for yourself.

That Western Elec. 396a is the one you want! There are not a lot of varieties or old stock out there and when Shandling came out with these CD players the prices of WE 396a spiked.
