What do you guys think these speakers have?

So, I found these Yamaha's HS50m speakers in my local FB market and the seller is asking 190 US dollars for both.

However, one speaker seems to be damaged on the cone and I don't know what it could be or if it would make the speaker sound bad.
The seller says that they sound totally fine and he's gonna send me a video where he plays some music and blah blah blah...

They are not common enough to find a matching woofer for cheap
It would bother me to look at that severely damaged one no matter how cheap

I would think the cone could be repaired, depending on the material. If it's paper, some tissue paper glued to the backside of the cone to reinforce the area, using Aileen's craft glue should fix it.

There are a pair of those on guitar center online for 175$. And the woofers are not damaged. I think they do a thing where you can get gear transferred from store to store for free or cheap.
I try to avoid speakers with damaged drivers unless the speakers are super cheap.

Depends. If the weight of the cone increases, which it might, that can change the physical parameters of the driver.

Very doubtful that a piece of tissue paper weighing less than a gram will make any difference.

That looks a lot like the Aquaplas on JBL woofers. If it's a coating it may be cracked and the cone behind it will be fine. But it will never look right if that bothers you.

I wouldn't pay even half of his asking price.
