What does USPS stand for???

Ultra Slow Postal Snail?

I purchased some small speakers that I know were shipped via Parcel Post over 2 weeks ago...I'm still waiting.

I sent out a package by Priority Mail (2 to 3 day delivery) on March 20th. It's now the 28th and it hasn't gotten there yet! Tracking just says "Item received for shipping on March 20th"

WTF? I guess I'm going to drive the extra 10 miles to ship with UPS in the future. They aren't so fast either but Fedex is 30 miles from here.

I've had more stuff stolen by the USPS than when I lived on "the wrong side of the tracks". Those lowlifes have stolen money from my daughter's birthday cards.

Forgot to mention...the last package I actually DID received via USPS, a somewhat rare Pilot integrated amp, arrived damaged!!!

Idiots!!!

Over 1000 packages shipped or received via USPS in the last 7 years and I have to tell you they have never lost a package. Only package I even lost via the post office was a Camera lens going to Istanbul and that went missing on the other side of Turkeys Customs. I have had some items take a while when being shipped surface after all it does take a while to get from one side of the country to the other.

I've never had to make a claim for damage against the Post office. I have twice with UPS. The only other times i have received an item damaged the packing job was so bad I would have felt like a thief even asking either shipper to pay a claim.

Usually when I get most annoyed at something traveling slow it shows up the next day KRAMA I guess.

Only way to go fr me is USPS. I've never had a problem with it in decades but can not say the same for the other services. #2 is FedEx but nevshiped big packs with them, just documents.

Usually USPS is pretty fast and damage-free for me... until I sent a money order to Florida to pay for my KEFs from that auction site. Usually mail between me and Florida takes three days. This time? Two solid weeks.

Back in the 90's, my cousin sent a wedding invitation to my house about a half-mile away for formality's sake. You should have seen the shock on her face when we finally got it back to her with a postmark from Kansas City, MO... three weeks later and from 1500 miles away.

I sent a check from MO to a guy in OK City and he didn't get it. Couple weeks later he asked me about it. I thought I had done it but I musta forgot. Sent another one the next day. He got that one in 2 days. The first one arrived the next day, after like 21 days. Go figure.

I use the USPS to ship anything from audio stuff over camera lenses to life fish. They have always done an outstanding job for me. Sometimes delivery takes a little longer than expected, but that's why they don't guarantee delivery times. I have never lost a single package in the post that I send or ordered, and I trade with places like Nepal and Armenia. The USPS also offers outstanding prices. If I ship a parcel from here to Germany, it costs less than half of what it would cost to send the same thing back! Also, sending a postcard or standard letter within the US costs less than half of what it costs to send the same thing within Germany - and compare the size of Germany to the US :headscrat

The guys at my local post office also offer a very friendly service. I never forget when my wife and I first came to the US on 23 December 2002, we had no phone service connected in the house we moved into. To get this going, we needed to ring the phone company - a typical catch 22! No public phone was to be found anywhere, and we didn't know a soul in the US. So we went to the local post office, hoping to find a public phone there - in many other countries that's a service the post office provides. The USPS people explained that this was not the case here, but seeing that we were frozen solid, and in a real predicament, we were shepherded into the well heated manager's office, where we could sit down at his desk and use his phone at our leisure. An hour later we had the phone thing sorted out, and on Christmas day were able to ring our families back home. You'll never hear me say a bad thing about USPS after experiencing that kind of customer service!

I have had good luck with USPS packages, going back a number of years. I usually ship priority mail.

On the other hand with letters, I have had awful luck. This is why I no longer accept business or legal mail at my home address. I grew tired years ago of the low life stealing items from my mailbox. Everything comes to my store, where I have a secure mailbox. I use the store for my legal address for the IRS, my drivers license, and all mailings concerned with elections.

I use USPS for my eBay sales and haven't lost one yet. Sometimes a little slow but otherwise it's worked for me so far.

I'll pick a seller who uses USPS to decide between US sellers. While USPS does not seem to consistantly support tracking info on international shipping, I've got stuff from California in 6 days. That includes the time in Canada customs.

Sorry to hear your USPS woes.

For me, they've been great, along with FedEx and DHL, for the most part.

UPS has been piss-poor.

My thoughts? The different channels it needs to go through, the different distribution centers, ect.

Our local UPS distribution center is horrific- I've been inside and witnessed first-hand how packages were treated, when I did part-time delivery years back. The other places were nothing like it.

However, I suspect foul play at one of the blue boxes I dump my mail in. Only at that location, when I mail my netflix back at that specific box, do they end up not making it back. I suspect a sticky-finger employee of the USPS, maybe flipping the discs on eBay or something.

Yippie! It was my birthday last week, and I received a card from my cousin....and some mailman had the courtesy to pre-open and remove the money for me!! How very kind :gigglemad I don't know why he bothered to put it back in the mail...

Anybody can have a bad day, but for me, USPS/Canada Post is unbeatable. Good service, always faster than they claim, and, if packed properly, things get there in one piece.

Plus, none of the other companies can come close to them for cheap border passage: United Parcel Smashers have an absurd cost for border brokerage fees, closely followed by Federal Express.

Um, they TELL you not to send cash through the mail...

Happy Birthday, by the way :D
