What exactly is a "profile post"?

I see all these profile posts and many of them are conversations between two members. What exactly are these?

I think they are like a "wall" (I don't have the Facepalm, so I'm guessing here) where people can make comments or whatever that everyone can see. Not really a private conversation. There is a seperate thing for that, similar to the old private message system but displayed more like a typical forum post.

"Conversations' are the old private messages. Check on the right side of page, and you can keep track of who is in the conversation. Want to bring a 3rd (4th, 5th...) person into the conversation? Click on "Invite More". The conversation stays in your inbox until you click on "Leave Conversation".

"Profile Posts" are the old Visitor Messages. You can set your privacy levels to control who sees those.

It's people leaving comments on their profile page like at the old site it's just we can see it happening unless they block the view.
