What Gas-Powered Yard Blower Do You Recommend

Last year I needed to replace my hand carried gas powered Craftsman Yard Blower, It was 8 years old and served me very well - started repeatedly hot, cold or after extended use with no problems - fast forward to this past year I bought a replacement Craftsman $99 Yard Blower and this thing will not start in temperatures under 65 degrees or in a stop and go situations...basically a POS.

So I am about to abandon this project and go for something more reliable - what would you recommend for a good lightweight hand carry-able gas powered yard blower under $200 (I have a small amount of property so backpack recommendations need not apply).

Find yourself a well taken care of Stihl from Craigslist, a pawn shop, or even new. You will not be disappointed.

You can get a good used handheld one for around 100 bucks in good condition.

Use stabilizer in your fuel mix so it doesn't go bad and cause you headaches. Gasoline doesn't last for more than a few months anymore now that it has ethanol in it.

:yes: Don't even bother with anything else. The backpack type blowers are really nice, you don't have to fight the blower all the time when you're at wide open throttle. But I also used a Stihl hand held blower that was awesome. It was a bit cold-blooded, took a few pulls to fire it up. Started every time though.
 
I bought a new Echo PB-251 handheld last year. Once I figured out the starting procedure, she fires right up with one or two pulls. Nice and powerful not too heavy. Use Echo PowerBlendX oil. Love my Echo trimmer too. You can't go wrong with Echo, Stihl, or Husqevarna.
 
We have a Husqvarna backpack model, which we bought last year at Lowe's. Great, reliable machine, and worth every penny of the higher price tag than the others.

My 20 year old sears is going strong as ever. Just make sure you mix the gas right.
 
Stihl,Echo and Husky are the Professionals choice for blowers as they Last and are very well built.
 
Got a little Stihl today from a brick and mortar store that services what they sell :yes: Someone said it best - just look at all the lawn care trailers and see what equipment they have.
