What gear is this? (if it's real)

As time of the year obligates, I sat down and watched my all-time Xmas favorite, National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation.

Early in the film, Chevy Chase accidentaly sends a huge shaft of ice flying through his yuppie neighbour's window, breaking their stereo. Their stereo apears to be a number of similar looking shiny black devices I cannot readily identify and I have been wondering about this for some years. Can anyone shine some light on this?

The best scene in the movie is when Chevy opens the attic and the steps smack him dead in the face..me and my buddies every year get together to watch Christmas Vacation and we always laugh and rewind that scene at least 5 times...

But yeah thats a B&O system and I point that out to my buddies what that system costs!!!! yikes...
