This is what happened: I listen to an ordinary CD radio player and press the STOP button as the system slips and sends me to hear track number 7 from 14 that I wanted to stop...Ok, now the other time it goes from 10 to 17 at the same function and moment. Now this is quite understandable looking at the fact that I press the QUIT operation at the microwave process at 23 seconds left and get the timer on 13 for just a second before it all stops as it should normally...So, any ideas on what's going on y'all? What could be causeing this? I mean I can allmost feel it when something like that is going to happen, when it does...but that's not important looking at it from a physical perspective or technical.

I mean, it's as if the button I press would get a new function to complete, instead of the one it usually does.

Um, it sounds like your CD player is selecting random tracks or not following instructions. I think. I was with you until this:

Membrane switches do have a tendency to activate adjacent controls once the film over the switch panel gets a tad pushed in. I too was kinda out in cloud nine concerning the microwave comment. Hell, do they make microwave ovens with built in CD players now? Let me guess---Bose!

I was thinking that this sounds like some extremely cheap components, be they microwave, CD Player, or a Bose combo.:D

Kinda like this? It's not a dedicated CD player, but it plays CDs. Kids these days... :thmbsp:

Ed: In all seriousness, I'd agree with the speculation above that your (I'm assuming) CD player is having issues with one button actuating others, and or a transport mechanism with wear or other problems.
