What have I bought?

I bought a couple of speakers and a subwoofer for 40€. I can't find any information about them online. Maybe someone can help me?

Focus - Vector VR600T & VRSUB8

The speakers work but the subwoofer is dead. No power, I cant get it running nomatter what.

I got the subwoofer working. But it's horrible. It will go to the trash. I have not decided on the other speakers. They are ok so far.

Why throw the sub in the trash? Someone might be able to use it or want it. Better than landfill!

Did you check to see how the surround is in the sub - it might need refoaming, which isn't expensive or that hard, and it might be good after.

The interior of the sub looks quite alright. But the sound from the speakers is horrible. Farting, disturbed and broken even on low volume... Sounds worse then the backdoor of my Ford Fiesta 20 years ago. Maybe playing backwards or some electronic is broken? It goes beyond my knowledge. Its defeninetly does not sound alright.

Woofer farting could be the sign of a loose surround. It happened on one of my A/D/S speakers. After regluing the surrounds, the speakers played fine...!

I would also check crossover and internal connections. Just to make sure before you toss out.
