What have I gotten myself into?

Hey everyone, new member here. I recently picked up a Yamaha CR 420 a Pioneer PL-A450 turntable and a set of MCS 8245 3 way speakers. SO far, so good. I am listening to my music off my desktop pumped in through the AUX ports on the receiver. Even the windows shut down sounds better now.

The cartridge on the turntable looks somewhat corroded but I don't have any LPs yet anyway.

The speakers look good, no rips in the foams but a little corrosion on the fronts. I have taken off the woofers and looked inside and everything seems good in there.

Welcome.

You're doomed. I started a few months ago and already have a room full of aurgasm stuff. hehe.

Welcome! We're just a bunch of audio enablers around here...so all we're gonna do is lead you further astray.

Welcome RoboSmurf! You'll find out it's such a gas acquiring 'new' gear to play with, you'll do it over, and over, and over....

..and over and over . Welcome . So...where are you located ? Im worried as that all your stuff seams to be "corroded" .
Rudy .

Welcome to AK, glad to have you here.

Start to learn this, cause you'll need it before long:
"Hi, my name is_____________ and I'm a vintage gear aholic."

Welcome. You think you got it now, wait till you start getting LP's. Then there are cartridge upgrades, crossover re caps. Great fun.

Welcome aboard, glad to have ya and as mentioned it's only going to get worse. I started with humble beginnings and now I'm border line hoarding enough gear for a tri-state area :D.

Welcome to the insanity! Once you start collecting vintage vinyl, there is no going back! Your car will now automatically stop at all thrift stores in your area, and force you to get out and spend hours and hours flipping through hundreds of Barbara Streisand records looking for the proverbial "Scroe". Great fun! Let the hunt begin!
