What I learned on Craigslist

I let go on for a few minutes. He started with saying Admiral Peary sailed around the pole and realized it was flat and the pole was an island and the moon landing wasn't real ???.I don't know how we got to that discussion. One minute we are talking about speakers the next the flat earther crap.I told him everyone has an opinion and my beliefs are based on science...do you want the stereo?

I was not allowed to post in a particular thread because I supposedly attacked someone's personal truth. It dealt with being moved by certain films, and someone brought up conspiracies, I mentioned flat earth. Mentioning flat earth, and disagreeing with the other.........so it just doesn't happen on CL.

I can rarely escape them.

I have to get off my but and list. I was looking for something last night and said to myself you need to list this crap. Much of it for Ebay, not CL. Boy I have been lazy.....
Same here.Haven't done eBay in a while.Too much hassle for me anymore not to mention fees.AVRs seem to go on cl it just takes a bit of time. They (decent ones)are not as common in the wild as they used to be.I had about fifty of them and am now down to about twenty. Most buyers were decent but they have been a couple of oddballs that bring up politics.I just let them know I'm not interested in that discussion and do you want the stereo?Needless to say I don't buy anymore audio to sell.

I learned scammers are getting lazy, or victims are getting easier.
Someone selling mid to high end espresso machines. Each one has c&p description, shipping only and pay with crypto on multi thousand dollar machines, each individual ad shows machines in vastly different locations.

The scamming is getting wild on Facebook marketplace too. They’re getting easier to spot but I’m sure some people still fall for it. Dead giveaways are always the most obvious such as paying with PayP** friends and fam, paying only shipping cost, sending a deposit etc.

Further digging I found the original ads for several of the machines listed. Non US companies, epay and others, all from different sellers and all old ads.

yeah I fell for one once, girl was selling a Fluke meter and was like 30 miles from me but offered to ship... yeah you know what happened.

Price was high enough not to red flag it but low enough to be a good deal, people are learning sadly

I console myself with the fact that I did get a Simpson 260-6xlpm at Value Village for $7 with leads but needing a battery connector and alligator clips. I guess that's the universe's way of evening things out?
