What is regarded as the best value in KEF history?

I have a pair of Q35.2 and think they sound great for the $100 I spent on them. I am interested in making another score from the KEF line. Preferably small floor standers but would not pass on bookshelfs either.

Thank you!

In order to provide a relevant response it needs to be clear how you relate cost to "sounding great".

If the Q35.2 had costed more would it not sound as good? Had it costed less would they experience a boost in sound quality?

I am referring to general cost to sound performance. I understand they have speakers at every price point.

I can highly recommend Kef Concerto, 104/2s, 105s, and 103.2s. I've had a few others such as 104ABs, and they sound good, but the ones I listed are my favourites. The Concerto sell for about $275 to $400 and I consider them very under valued. As soon as my son found out I was letting mine go, he wanted them. So mine are still in the family. I also love my 105s, but the Concerto are the kings for low volume SQ. My 2 cents.

Here is a 103.2 and a Concerto without their dust covers;

That's not what I asked.

Had the Q35.2 costed less, would it sound better?

Had the Q35.2 costed more, would it sound worse?

The relationship between cost and sound quality must be established otherwise there is no such thing as an informed response to your query.

You have made it clear that cost is proportional to sound quality and the questions I posed to you need to be answered in order for you question to be answered.

Let me phrase this differently for you then… Which KEF’s do you like and why?

Why the need to rephrase? Have you had a change of mind as to the cost to performance relationship of KEF speakers? Or was your previous assesment a dishonest one?

As to which I like and why, KEF R11. Sounds good, nicely built.

I can't say which KEF speakers are the best value, because KEF made so many speakers over the years and I certainly have not heard all of them. Here are my favorites, in no particular order:

Calinda
104/2
Any of the Reference series, Models One, Two, Three and Four from the mid to late 90s.

The Calinda and the Reference Model Ones are small floor standers.
