What Is You Preference Between These Two Cassette Decks

Hello Audio Karma ! First post, and I have a decision to make. I can get these two Cassette decks for 100.00 each. Not bad decks from what I have read here, but I can only get one (for now). My choice is A Pioneer CT F900, or a Akai GXC-730D . Both have been babied since the owner bought new. The owner passed away a few months ago, and his wife is selling his gear. I'd like to have both, but only one is on the menu . Your opinions would be greatly appreciated !!

Luckyorleans, thanks !
Oh...... That is NOT a good mark for the Pioneer ! I missed that thread ! Gosh, and such a beautiful deck! Looking like the Akai . Any issues with that deck I should watch out for ? Seems like it does ok, but they both looked like they were ok before I saw that thread on the Pioneer !

Tough call. Both very nice decks. The only thing I can think of is the fluoroscan meters on the Pioneer failing. You'll probably want to replace the old belts on whichever one you pick.

Yup, agreed. Budget for replacement of rubber in the Pioneer. Belt kit on ebay is available for not much money. If you have DIY skills, the Pioneer could be an attractive proposition. See if you can get a discount to allow for this.

That is a good idea. I am a bit skeptical about some belt re-sellers. I may find somebody that sells in the states. I realize they prob come from China anyway. I may just get both decks, and look at possible work regardless. That Pioneer sure is pretty.........

I bought a belt kit for my NAK on that site. Everything worked fine.

Thanks all !! I will be buying the Akai first, then considering the Pioneer. It is not going anywhere. Again, thanks for the opinions, they have been quite welcome, and informative.

I have that Akai and the main belt gets stretched and has to be slipped back on, though I never really went for the replace. It is a fine 3 head deck.
