What is your biggest regret involving speakers?

Not knowing where the problem was. I had a Fisher 190b receiver, 9 watts into 8 ohms I believe, hooked up to some small Becker three-ways. Thought the problem was the receiver. Ended up replacing both with a Yamaha CR420 and NLA's. The CR420 was not really powerful enough for the Advents at any kind of volume. Out of curiosity I acquired a very similar Fisher and hooked it up to some efficient speakers and the combination was better than the Yamaha and Advents. I just needed to replace the Beckers.
That the Maggie i7x just did not fit long-term in my listening space. Everything I wanted to do at that end of my room I had to work around the speakers so they had to go. But, I miss their crystal clear mid-range and imaging. Like no other speaker I've heard.

The Wharfedale's took an enormous amount of time and money for me to restore but I had too many speakers in a one bedroom condo. My reasoning was that a pre-amp took up less space. But the guy lied about about the Hafler being re-capped. I did that myself, didn't care for it much afterwards then traded it along with a bunch of other stuff for a different pre-amp.
Those Wharfedales were gorgeous once I'd finished them.

No, that are cabinets. The 12” woofer and midrange horn and horn tweeters are in a separate built in cabinet. The 30” subwoofer is in a front loaded horn. All of that in those a$$ cabinet.

Got a pair of Boston Acoustics A40 series II that needed a re-foam. I did it, and they have been singing in my garage for better than 10 years. Well, one day my son and his friends wanted to hear a song (bass - heavy). One of my woofers is now shot.
Just got a pair of aftermarket replacement woofers, hopeful that the install and sound are pleasant.....

Throwing away the first set of decent speakers I ever bought.
Regret not because they were fantastic desirable speakers,regret because I would love to still have them,nostalgia and sentimental reasons.
Threw them away before I knew woofers were able to be re foamed.
Technics SB L-50's.
Bought them new in 1980 when I was 16 years old.
Still have the receiver and turntable I bought at the same time. Receiver was new,tt was used.
Would love to still have the speakers along with it.
HH Scott 355 R and Technics SL-210.
Here is the receiver and tt.

I did the same thing. No idea about re foaming. House brand speakers from a little shop called "Sound of Music" in the early 80's, which grew into the corporation Best Buy
Sorry to hear you fell victim to rotten foam also. Darn,$20 worth of foam,and back when we threw them away,it was probably $10 worth of foam.
