Was watching Heull Houser's show last night. He was showing us Frank's residence in Palm Springs, preserved exactly as it was when Frank was still with us.

Turns out Frank was a huge model train nut - had an outbuilding filled with model trains. Several of the trains were operating during the show, and there were pics of Frank with a train engineer's cap on.

I know Neil Young shared this passion, and was instrumental in Lionel's revival. Ronald Reagan had a set in the basement of his home in Sacramento when he was guv, and frequently had legislators over to run the trains while making deals.

Rod Stewart also has an amazing train set. Apparently when he travels he has a room set aside to work on structures, etc. Model Railroader did a nice thing on him maybe 2 years ago.

Apparently he was far more excited to be on the cover or Model Railroader then on Rolling Stone.
