What receiver/amp did you buy for $10 or under?

Sometimes we get lucky and find a deal at a garage sale, flea market, etc.

Lets hear of your deal and remember it is not bragging if you did it.

Mine are below and all work. These are not all just luck as I go to many sales and patience pays off eventually. I have not been lucky lately except for a Akai GX280D-ss RTR. I am still looking for a monster SX 1250, 1280 or big Sansui.

Sansui 9090db AM/FM Receiver 125 wpc $10 at garage sale on 11/13/04

Pioneer SX-1010 AM/FM Receiver 100 w/ch $10 at estate sale on 3/15/07 was dead allowing me to get down from $20, but required only a small fuse I had

Pioneer SA-940 Integrated Amplifier, 70w/ch, free in original box, garbage 6/8/06 (also got Pioneer TX-540 AM/FM Tuner, and Pioneer CT-340 Stereo Single Cassette Tape Deck in boxes too)

Kenwood KA-6000 Integrated Amplifier 45 w/ch, $5 garage sale, 5/05

Kenwood KR-4070 AM/FM Receiver 40 w/ch, $5 same garage sale above, 5/05

Sansui QS-500 4 Channel Rear Amplifier 33 w/ch, $10 garage sale, 7-9-05

Harman Kardon 825/870 preamp and power amp (craigslist Free), needed some work on preamp (done) and poweramp (still working on)
Onkyo TX-1500 MK II (free, town recycling) - not tested

Marantz 2245. Paid $10 for it. Not working. Swapped it for a beautiful Yamaha 2020. Sold that for $550. Yes, I did disclose the condition of the Marantz. :)

Assuming the question refers only to $10 or less pieces that we still own:
Realistic STA-2000D
Pioneer SX-535
Sansui 221
Technics SA-150

Sansui 771, free out of the back of a P/U going to the wrecker. cleaned pots and works perfect. My main receiver.

Yamaha R-300 receiver for 2 bucks from the church bargain center. Cleaned pots, works great and gave it to a buddy last week for his new house I've been renoing.

Sansui 2000X receiver, Sony T-table (forget the model), and a pair of Boston Acoustic HD-7 bookshelf speakers for the cost of gas to drive a hundred mile round trip. Speakers are cosmeticaly perfect but need a refoam. I gave the T-table to the buddy mentioned above. The 2000X works perfectly and is sitting in my living room.

Last week, 750 cassettes for free. Everything from Abba to ZZ-Top and every genre of music you can think of. I'll keep around 125 of them and the rest will go out in a big local community yard sale here. What doesn't go will go back to the church bargain center. I guess I need to get my hands on a working cassette deck now.:D

This one was a freebie, from the scrap metal pile at my town "transfer station" (dump) - all tubes original and good.
Needed only basic restoration (capacitors) and the well-known mods for these (kindly performed by Gary Kaufman).

Many more from my favorite local emporium, but that one is probably the "best" deal to date.

A few so far:

KR-4070 for $9.99 (with a wood case)
KR-4070-BFace.jpg

KR-3090 for $7.00

Another KR-4070 for 99¢

Wow! You got away with that highway robbery...twice! :smoke:

The best I have done is a swap for a Technics SA-400 for an H/T receiver that was essentially free, and this Kenwood KT-1000 and KA-2000 that were given me by a co-worker.
