Cruisin'1962
I used to see these Cruisin' albums in record shops back when I was a teen but never bought one. Well, I thrifted one today.
Yep, a nostalgic look back when crusin' main street in your heavy Chevy or Dodge'm was a Saturday night ritual. The rumble and growl of big displacement V8 engines everywhere.
Burnouts on skinny bias ply tires. Fuel just pennies per gallon (even fewer pennies per litre). Lead accelerator foot a must. AM radio blasting the top 40 hits and golden oldies from the summer before.
All the cool cats lookin' for a pretty kitty to cruise with and hang with at the Burger Palace.
Drive in threatres, drive in food, drive in Tasty-Freeze cones, drive past garbage cans, drive through car washes everywhere and open late.
It was a keen time and it never really ended but faded away like the maroon paint on your old man's Ford Country Squire Estate Station Wagon. Yeah, I remember it and miss it.
