Interesting, this isn't true stereo. Some instruments are on one channel while others are on the other channel. There is no sound stage. I thought at first it was an issue with my system so I switched to my other system and it's the same thing albeit for whatever reason the channels are reversed (I need to look into that). Regardless, it is a great album.

If it's that electronically simulated stereo popular in the 70s it can produce some strange (mostly unpleasant imo) effects.

I had a Kinks 'best of' around 1974 which was pretty horrible because of the treatment they'd given some of the tracks.
