What song is stuck in your head today?

Going on the fourth night during which this one keeps seeping into my consciousness. Dunno why.

Ashes to ashes, dust to dust
Ashes to ashes, dust to dust
A long time ago before the ice and the snow
there were Giants that walked this land
With each step they took
the mighty mountains shook
and the trees took a knee and the seas rolled in
Then one day they say the sky gave way
and death rained down
made a terrible sound
There was fire everywhere
and nothing was spared
that walked on the land
or flew through the air
When it all was over
the slate wiped clean with a touch
There God stood and He saw it was good
And He said, "Ashes to ashes and dust to dust"

Willie Nelson's 90th Birthday concert was on PBS last night, I think his whole playlist ear-wormed me through my dreams last night!

Boy, Kris Kristoferson looked pretty bad, sorta had this hollow stare though he did smile and seemed to know the tunes...think Rosanne Cash was almost acting like his "handler." Poor sod passed away last August, if you look him up on Wiki, he had quite a life, every one of those wrinkles was hard earned!

Presently, I don't have. However, have had some monster ear worms in the past. Probably the worst (in terms of how long it lasted; almost 2 years of "hearing" it in my mind near constantly) was an E. Power Biggs recording of Bach's Sinfonia to Cantata 29. I had learned to play it on organ for a wedding, and had used that particular recording as an audible aid to check myself against. I really like the piece of music, but man, I just couldn't escape it. It went on so long, that when the streak finally ended, I woke up in the middle of the night and almost thought I'd died, as I heard only silence.

Supertramp's Bloody Well Right is another one that remained "stuck" for a while.

Pink Floyd's High Hopes has been stuck in my noggin for the last couple of days...

"the grass was greener, the light was brighter, the taste was sweeter, the nights of wonder, with friends surrounded...."

One of our cats, and the new foster kitten have a thing for pipe cleaners.

Yesterday my wife noticed one was deeply enthralled and started singing-

We got pipe cleaner, pipe clean-ahhh
We know how to do it
Gimme that pipe cleaner, pipe clean-ahhh
We know how to show it

...and I can't get that out of my head.

Day two.

Will probably never hear that song any other way now.

THANKS, honey!

Andrew Lloyd Webber phantom of the Opera that I last heard Saturday and while changing out/ testing the belts of a cassette deck. Played rush, miles Davis and Mozart to no avail. Ahh!

Short People by Randy Newman. I haven’t heard that song in years and for some reason, it just popped into my head. I listened to it while driving home today and I’d forgotten how good it is. Very simple, very funny and kind of mean. For the life of me, I can’t understand why those particular characteristics resonate with me… Ha ha.
