What speakers match a G-22000?

Hi All
I'm having a blast with my G-22000, I got to thinking (I know this is a bad thing) when I bought my G-6700 new I remember the BIG G-22000 in center stage at the store, but it was something I could never afford, so I got what I could afford the g-6700, I had a pair of Genesis speakers so the receiver is all I needed, but what Sansui speakers would it have been hooked up to the G-22000? If I knew what model they are, I'll keep an eye out for a pair.

They have to be some of the most insane looking speakers I have ever seen!!
I agree with you Kevin.
At one point of my quest for Sansui I was ready to pay the plain ticket and accommodation for seller.
I think it was four such speakers and G33K.I was afraid of fraud,so few bucks here and there is not a big deal. That's insane!

Robert

WOW! If I find those it will be like a needle in a haystack. But then again I did find a 22000! How about something just abit smaller?

Indeed that is an insane story.
More to the point.............I wonder what they sound like?
17" Woofer and all, I would hope they pack a fair "punch"..............

Needle in a hay stack or not, I feel if you have a giant G you are obligated to own a pair of those speakers!!

I will check my brochure, with the G-22000 in it, later tonight and see what speakers are in it.

Sansui amps are great, and the speakers? Not so much. If you have a budget that can stretch to 3K I would get some JBL L300s or 4343s. A little more downmarket KEF 105s or 107s, JBL 4330s or 4320s, or Altec Valencias or Model 17s would be sweet. Cheaper still? JBL 4313bs, 4410s, Vandersteens, or some ADS speakers might fill the bill nicely, how big is your room and what music do you listen to?

Must admit, I am a JBL fan myself as you can see in my signature, The ES-90's would go alright on the end of a 22000........they are rated at 225watts 8ohms................I have mine on the end of my hybrid G-7700 and they really kick ass................
They are modern speakers of course and not vintage, but in any case I really like the sound of them..............

Right now I'm playing the BIG G through JBL's L220's that I Ewaved, but thought it would but cool to find some "period" matching Sansui's. I got the box's for free so I ewaved them.

A buddy of mine ran a set of SP L800's with his BA5000 and I had a set of Wharfedale E90's running off my G33000 and both were GREAT!!!! We both ran "Music Services" back then and never had any problems with the amp/reciever nore speakers blowing.

Depends what you want. You have enough power to drive anything. Most of the Sui speakers are pretty high efficiency, massive woofers, horn drivers etc. Quite frankly they are not very accurate - I have several sets in the collection (SPX-9900, 9700, 9000 and 8700 - SP5500) so I have some experience. The Technics SB series are more accurate for example - SB-7000 etc - if you want vintage. Any of the newer quality stuff from many of the manufacturers will show the big G in all of its glory.
