I just saw them also , trying to search internet found nothing on them , I was just going to ask the same question:scratch2:

One of use should go get them for a look see.

I did email for contact info, we'll see.

Pretty funky indeed. Look at the the left side of the ribbon panel, is that the guys reflection? spooky!

I'd be a bettin', experimentin' man, and I'd be driving those home tonight if I was closer.

Worst case, they could be re-sold for close to what you paid for 'em, and at woorse, a very generous donation to Goodwill...

If I lived within 100 miles of them, I would go take a look and listen. How many opportunities do you ever expect to have in your life to audition those speakers? $50 is cheap for a pair of speakers; they would have to be dreadful to not be worth that. Now, if you already have too much stuff cluttering your home, you may wish to simply pass...

I hope an AKer gets these and posts a review. Sounds like they aren't much to listen to, but as large Ribbons (?) with a big woof-woof perhaps they could be decent with a bit of tweaking and the right system driving 'em? Maybe, more likely not... but only a good listening test will tell.

Sometimes odd or little-known speakers can surprise you. I have yet to see a second pair of Tardis "Sound Field Projectors" beyond the one pair that sold here last year, but they actually sounded very good. Judging from the size, weight, design/construction and the amount of solid wood, etc... used in them, they were probably too expensive new to have sold many or become common or well-known. Not quite the same thing as what is being sold here, but equally odd/unusual. Fun to find such things and/or to hear them!

You never know, they may not have the "sizzle" that the seller confuses with "good" speakers. They might be very neutral.

They are sitting in the basement. I'll post some pics tomorrow.

The guy had every model of DLK's in his house. Including a very nice pair of 4's. Dang those things are big.

PS- Colin if you want these let me know. He gave me a good deal and I really have no use but to play with them.
