I bought 2 "working" Eico HF22's off ebay. both doa . Not so local friend said bring them over and let me look at them. Man, this guy has a lot of test gear. He tried to reform one can cap no go. In and out so fast. Bypassed the can cap. The other can cap reformed. I am trying to learn, but he is just too fast. I did buy him some nice nos tubes.
So now with a lot of 60+year old caps in it Big yellow wax ones. I am trying to order off Mouser. molded .05 mfd-400 V +- 10%
disc 47 mmf (? v ) +- 10%
etc I have finished Electronics for dummies. So I ask what is the next book to get.To learn about new caps in tube amps. It looks like a lot of orange drop and Nichicon fans.
The mids and highs never sounded better on the La Scalla's the bass is way flabby.
