Some input please. I have a guy wanting to trade me a pretty nice Sansui G7500 receiver for a pair of D9 CV ‘s. I restored these speakers and put on new cloth. Refoamed the woofers and replaced 2 tweeters and a mid. A good deal or not??
I’m assuming the speakers are worth around $600-$800. The receiver about the same.

You'd need to find out what work has been done on the Sansui. If it has been restored then it's probably a good trade both ways. If not, it could become regrettable quite quickly. 40 year old electronics are working on borrowed time and then finding a local shop willing to do repair on vintage equipment is nearly impossible. Don't make the decision based on the Sansui looking good and sounding good currently. Just my .02.

Gbroot may possibly be correct about the age of that reciever. However i dont agree. You can learn yourself how to repair vintage equipment. And it is possible to get them done in a shop. Depending where you live. Or also ask if there is an AKer in your area who is willing to help.
But yes i would definitely check out its current condition beforehand with a listen to it. See how it sounds to your ears. And if you enjoy it.
That is a classic vintage beast. And desirable apparently (never heard one myself). It is certainly handsome.

As to the d9's i just sold a pair. They are one of cerwin vegas better speakers and the 15" is nice. Although i would say the D7 is a better speaker. The base is less flabby and its better proportioned.
There are many, many, many, many better speakers out there then CV's

That is a deal i would take.

I can work on it. The guy said one of the channels was repaired , whatever that means.
I would definitely listen to it and evaluate before trading.

Sounds like a fair trade as long as the reciever is working properly like others have said. I have a G8000 and like it a lot. It’s a great reciever on the eyes as well. Good luck and if u get the reciever please post pics and tell us what u think.

The G series is my favorite Sansui receiver series. Bit have a 5700 and love it. A very fair trade.
