What type of "pot" is this?

I bought a BK Precision signal generator recently. As the output frequency was erratic, I opened it up, and cleaned both frequency (coarse and fine), pots, and I am glad to report the output is now consistent.

I looked at other pots that might benefit from cleaning, and noted a group of devices that appear to be pots, but they are different. It appears the shaft that is turned by the knob moves a device inside the metal object (see photo). From the PC board, I see 6 solder pins.

I don't recall which adjustment knob (how it's labeled), is associated with it. There are 4 such devices, and their adjustments are for these functions:

The amplitude know definitely has a pull out (to attenuate output by 20db). I am not sure about the others.

As the main board of the generator is mounted upside down-I believe this device as seen in the pic is a push\pull unit. It appears to have a pot to the right-but is there really a pot there, and the metal enclosed device is to switch in the attenuation?

yep, round part is the pot, square part is the switch. Probably switches in or bypasses a set of resistors to provide the -20db function.

Thanks for the confirmation. I can safely clean it too-output voltage is very twitchy!
