What type of speakers are these?

Hi guys!
I'd like to know if the tweeter in these pictures is a simple "pure" tweeter or if it is a mid-tweeter (I just know it was made in Italy by Faital).
Could you help me, please?

Anyway, could it be used as "pure" midrange in these speakers (below)?

As you can see, the loudspeaker above is a two ways system, both are Peerless alnico speakers: the tweeter is the famous Peerless HT-25 HFC (or its brother the HT-225 HFC) connected to a 10uF capacitor (what a poor crossover!).
Thank you very much in advance for your kindness and your patience! (Please forgive me, I'm a newbie with the desire to learn!)
Regards!

Hi...don't have an answer for you but I'd like to welcome you to AK. And don't worry...we were all newbies once.

I'd say they were certainly tweeters, since they are the smaller driver in a two-way system. And since these tweeters are rather large in diameter, I don't think they were meant for extended high frequency response. They are probably fine out to maybe 10K or 11K, enough to add a pleasing amount of high end, but not detailed enough to reveal the deficiencies in the amplifier or record player/CD player that would probably be commensurate in cost to that of the speakers themselves.

Tweeters of the old school. You could use them as midranges if you wanted to kill them quickly; that little 1/2" voice coil was in no way designed to handle high power or even medium power. Don't do that to them, they never did anything to deserve it. Some of the 3"-4" tweeters, while not extended, tend to sound quite sweet in the lower treble, say around 4-8 kHz. Above that they roll off.
