What was the last movie you watched?

The Fast and the Furious 3: Tokyo Drift.

:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

This was a rewatch

It's a guilty pleasure, but on recent viewing I have more respect for F&F 1 and 3 as films. In particular for Tokyo Drift, yeah it's super cheesy, but I think it has the second best car cinematography I've seen after Le Mans. I really appreciate that they use as little CGI as they can. Even what they do use, they never have the cars do anything impossible. It feels like they used CGI to overcome limitations of what could be filmed, not of what could be driven. The later films leaned more heavily into the CGI and required more coilovers of disbelief.

Deadpool and Wolverine.

Hated it.

Apparently I was supposed to watch 15 other movies before this one to get all of the references.
The first Deadpool was pretty entertaining but it was wearing out its welcome with the sequel. Now I'm totally done.

Solaris (1972)

Last time I saw it on analog TV quite long ago, this is my first watch in full HD.
I like it very much, but also found it challenging to follow due it's slow pace and need for close attention for almost three hours.

Same here, watched recently. It helped that I had read the book back in early 70's, vaguely remembered the story line.

Mayday (2026 - Prime movie) Ryan Reynolds and Kenneth Branagh
Tenet - (2020) - Christopher Nolan film

Mayday was a fun hoot - Ryan Reynolds as a cocky (of course) Navy pilot during cold war, recruited to fly the SR71 over Russia for a recon mission - and - shot down!
I love the scene where there are three people hiding in the closet and Ryan hands the guy a bottle of wine... and so many wise cracks we were almost rolling on the floor !

True Grit (2010)

Call it a sacrilege, but I like this remake better than original.
Storytelling is more dynamic and straightforward, acting is less theatrical, and comical elements are less forced (they should reduce the comedy even more IMO). Also, leading actress is of authentic age, not and adult playing a child.

The "Dude" can play almost any role... that was an excellent movie.
