And what's each piece worth (or what range)?

Pioneer RG-9 Dynamic Processor
Pioneer SR-9 Reverb Amp

JVC NR-50 Noise Reduction Unit (Super ANRS)

Technics SU-A6 (preamp/switcher):

Pioneer A-80 Amplifier*
*(volume knob seems a bit faulty, maybe a cold solder joint. Once it starts working, it works great, but it cuts out to line level instead of just adjusting the gain from time to time.)

Pioneer HPM-1100 Tower Speakers (pair)**
**Cabinets in good shape, tweets/super-tweets might be blown. These *will* need some work to be fully functional. Last I had these hooked up was probably a year or more ago. They will shake an entire apartment with ease, but the highs were non-existent. :(

Wouldn't it have been more polite to just say "Hey, I am here to use your vast knowledge and resources to make a quick buck and then never come back" first, then ask for information.

As for worth, look it up yourself, it isn't that hard.

We see this type of stuff all the time with lots of reasons behind why they need to know the resale value,what people should write is this.

Hello,somebody in my family( insert name here )just took a dirt nap & i cant wait to sell off everything they were passionet about, but i want to be sure i squeeze every last nickle out of the stuff so I dont loose out when i sell it all,oh and im too lazy to spend an hour looking in the completed listings on ebay so could you all please do my research for me.

Ebay is your encylopedia my friend.

OH,i forgot,the stuff you have is good equipment but if your thinking your going to get rich or pay for a new plasma TV with the proceeds it aint gonna happen,its not worth a fortune.

you came to the wrong place for "value" info. guys here like to help but not help guys who are looking to make a quick buck and "USE" this site for their own personal gain.

now if you have a reason behind what your looking for, it may help your cause to post that. but your prob better off going to ebay and doing your own research. the search engine here could help you too.

we get alot of people scoring vintage stuff, comin here and asking for value to sell on ebay. guy dont like being used like that here. so if your here for another reason, take some time, hang and prove your reason for being here isnt to get value and score a buck. guys here love to help, but not help the leaches get rich.

Usually when you go to a new forum anywhere on the net, it's best to read the FAQ and look around a bit before making your first post. Some forums require you make an introduction before you make any other posts, however it isn't that way here, but it's just the polite thing to do...

Hopefully your intentions are good, and you will become a useful part of this community... There are some really great people around here, and it's amazing the things you can learn from them.

I hope others see the fact you did make an apology, and are looking to try and make amends. Hopefully you are sincere in your ways... and if so, you will probably make some really great friends here...
 
Introductions made.

All the items listed above were given to me by my dad. Mostly just stuff he had in storage that hadn't been hooked up in probably 20years. He gave it to me, I played with it a couple times, but it all has some issues (as stated above).

The Speakers were given to me by a friend when he moved to Germany.

Am I looking to sell it? Maybe. :( I need the money, and it's just sitting around.

Do I *want* to sell it? No, becuase I think it'd make a great lil' kick arse system if I can get it all working.

So basically, I'm debating convincing the wife it's not all junk and it's actually worth it to keep it....or convincing myself that it's not worth keeping and trying to repair it all.

She's the type perfectly happy with a "Theater in a Box" to handle all her audio needs. I'm a bit more picky, but can't afford all the fancy new audiophile equipment I'd really like to have.

So, there's the long and short of it.

Sounds like you have a few options.. You say yuo have some electrical ability.. so fixing it yourself would be by far the cheapest route.. If you did decide to sell it, it would be worth a lot more if it did work. Non working, it would probably more of a hassle than it's worth to list it on e-bay considering what you would get...

Another option.. put it on craigslist and sell it locally.. then take the proceeds from that, then use some patience and time, and buy some other gear, and show the wife you can do it on the cheap, and get some great stuff in the process..

Myself, I'd repair it and keep it. You've got some good equipment there, and you'll never be able to replace it for the money you will have in it for a few parts if you need..

Sounds like you might be on the path a lot of us are.. starting to collect more than you need :thmbsp: but it is a fun hobby.. it can also be a cheap hobby if you shop right.. Garage sales are your friend.. show you wife you can put together a ass kickin system for less than she can get one of those all in one boxes..

All of my really GOOD equipment is at least 25+ years old. It has all had "issues" at one time but it all works like new now. Just decide what you want to keep,fix it yourself or find a tech and get rid of the rest on fleabay.

(If I had your electronics abilities, nothing would ever get thrown away.)

LOL.. we'll see... seems sincere.. I came here and my very first post was asking what a Sansui quad was worth.. I looked for a place to make an introduction first, but you insensitive clods didn't have a place to do that yet... LOL... anyway...it was because I was bidding on one, and didn't wanna over pay.. I got a cold shoulder.. but ya'll couldn't get rid of me that easy :p:

Ok, I may still scrap the Noise Reduction unit - but aside from that, it looks like I've got work to do.

That wouldn't have been so tough, would it? I wonder how many potential "good" AK members have been lost this way?
