whats the biggest fullrange speaker available?

i saw some images online of 30" papercone woofers.
not sure if they were fullrange or not.
but they got my envy motor turning..

does anybody know where some large fullrange speakers can be bought?

heres what i saw.

The three big bluish cone drivers in that pic are ElectroVoice 30W's....bass drivers. Rare,expensive when you can find them.
 
There's where you start getting into stadium-sized PA arrays that make the above picture seem like dollar store earbuds by comparison :)
 
New production or vintage?
I am unaware of any ever made larger than 15"
15" were not uncommon (e.g., the EV SP-15 was a pretty nice one). Larger FRs tend to have even more rolled-off and/or directional high frequencies. FWIW I think 15" drivers are best thought of as "extended range" rather than "full range".

Here's an interesting, early large "full-range" driver, the Altec 603B. It's a 15" woofer with an aluminum dustcap and a horn in front of the dustcap to make the most of the HF radiated by the dustcap!

The dual surround compliance Altec "Biflex" was another interesting approach to a large extended-range driver.

The largest production free standing full-range speaker I am familiar with is the Acoustat Model 8 at about 3' wide and 8' tall. I still have a pair of its little brother, the Model 6, which is just as tall but "only" about 30" wide. They are capable of bass output down into the mid 20 cycle range and go out to about 15,000 cycles or so on the high end. All you need is a 20' by 30' (or larger) room and an amplifier that can drive a 1 ohm load @ 40 volts or so.

Here's a better picture of the OP's picture.. With a person in the picture to give a true sense of size.

As a note, I've got the same JBL horn and 15" double woofer boxes just to the right of her.. and those alone put out a hell of a lot of sound and bass... I can't imagine what 6 EV 30" drivers add to the sound..

i want those 30" so i can turn my bedroom into a pair of headphones lol..
haha jk, jk....

in my listening room. i have some advents, fishers and some subwoofers.. they sound pretty nice, and they can get loud and jam..

and i have a pair of decent headphones for when i am wanting to notice the fine details in the mix.
but i dont have the power to cave in the roof.. :D

i think that some large speakers would give me a fun project.
maybe i should just buy some 18" woofers from parts express and do a econowave dedicated to the memory of zilch??

i have never heard horns before :scratch2:

but i also really like how JBL L100s look..
how would L100's compare to NLA's as far as quality sound goes?
also nearfield listening.

maybe i have spent too much time AK within the last few days and now i am wanting more stuff :D
