When the offer is too good, trust your gut and pass...

[Dr. Ears]

There is a guy on CL, Colorado Springs offering the following: Pioneer SX-1080 Stereo Amp/Receiver & 2 Sansui SPX-7000 Speakers for
$100, when I inquired further he asked me, if I could beat an offer of $550.
The Colorado Springs police have issued multiple warnings about buying stolen gear.
My gut told me to stay away from this guy.

The price will likely continue to go up as he then comes back with higher and higher prices that the 'other person' is willing to pay. They are running their own imaginary ebay on craigslist.

The Colorado Springs police have issued multiple warnings about buying stolen gear.

I often wonder just how much ebay and craigslist type sites have added to increased shoplifting and credit card theft. People will often talk about buying brand new items at less than half price or gift cards at substantially reduced prices.
Except for the one off instance with an item someone bought and decided they don't like and for some reason can't return the only way for people to do that is to steal the item or buy them with stolen credit card numbers.
