When you love your children equally

So I am happy to say that I have two systems, both of which make me very happy: one is solid state, the other tube-based. I have a small office/guest room where I use this stuff, and I guess I would like to use the solid state for more contemporary stuff like Bruce Springsteen or Fleetwood Mac or Keith Jarrett and the older one for midcentury stuff like Dave Brubeck.

Only the corner two walls, which meet at right angles, are available, and at this point--after a move and contractor work--everything is stacked against one wall. Would it make more sense to arrange the solid state system against one wall and the tube stuff against the other--and turn my swivel chair in the middle of the room to face either direction--or keep both systems together and centralized against one wall and figure out a way to switch between the various components? (Does my question even make sense?)

I also have KLH Sixes and early Wharfedale 60s for the tube stuff and Smaller Advents for the solid state, all of which I like for different reasons. And I actually don't mind the sound of the SAs with the tubes, which theoretically should be too wimpy to drive those inefficient speakers.

The other option would be to put them in different rooms, one of which would not be such a private retreat as that office. Thanks for any thoughts you might have!

I have two systems in same room. I share line level inputs between them useing a 2 input X 4 input RCA switch box. If your not a perfectionist, more than one set of speakers in same room, might be ok.

I have my low level set up on one wall and my louder set up on the other works ok for me ! One is for listening at modest levels when the wife is home the other for cranking !

Just trying to figure out the best approach to arranging all that heavy stuff after contracting work on the house (to remove mold) meant putting it in a pile in the middle of the room!

Thanks. That was my original thought, and I'm glad you've just endorsed it. It seems like the simplest approach.

One I have has two rotary silver contacts switches on front and six pair gold RCAs on back. In Aluminum box. Bought on ebay for about $55. No issues in two years use.

That looks much better and sturdier than the cheap plastic one I have. I will definitely look into it. Thanks.
