Where to attach Miracord 770H ground wire

Hi,
The ground wire on my Elac Miraocrd 770H (the one with the strobe) came off, and I can't figure out where on the chassis to reattach it. I get a terrible hum. Anybody know where it goes? Thanks!

Find a screw underneath and take a piece of wire, wrap around the screw. Now you have a ground wire. Tie to the ground screw on the amp. Welcome to AK!

Thanks, Eric. I have tried using alligator clips to various screws and other spots on the chassis, so it must be another problem. I have a low impedance cartridge with an SUT, whose transformer may be introducing the noise. And the SUT has no ground. But I am in the process of securing a better step up transformer. Hope that works!

bumping this....informational....I just got an Elac 770h off of fleabay for 50 bucks. Runs smoothly and silently....except.....for the hum! As per this tip...I attached a strand of speaker wire from a screw on the metal chasis to the ground screw on my amp. Also sprayed some de-oxit on the connections, but it still hummed until I attached the wire. Hum is gone.....I now have a new favorite Elac Miracord to join the stable along with the 50h ....50h ii ....10h ....and the soon to arrive Sears Silvertone 7510....a rebadged Elac Miracord 10. The 770h sounds phenomenal....feather light automatic needle drop....and feather light manual needle drop...plays flawlessly.....sounds amazing. Tried a Denon dl-110 on it....excellent....also wonderful with my Shure M97he with a Jico SAS stylus. Thanks for the tip. You made my day!
