Where to buy Nakamichi CR-7 Reel motor?

Hi,

I have a mint Nakamichi CR-7 but it has a dead spot on the reel motor

What motor specs do I need?

Where do you buy this motor? (multiple places if so please) ebay etc

used or new is fine

I am in New Zealand if that helps

It looks like that model hasn't been made since 1993, finding parts will be difficult at best and NOS stuff may be impossible to find.

There is a thread about replacing motors in a CR-7 in the tape sub-forum, there may be more and better info there. Plus your posts will get better visibility by people with more knowledge.

If its the same drive unit that goes in the nad 6300,u can find a replacement on Ali. Belive it's a sankyo made unit

you need to test it off the cassette deck, if not working, check solder joints on the motor ic etc, often bad causing it to not start
