Which deck should you choose?

Hello everyone. I want to buy a deck for recording loops, individual parts, and possibly entire tracks to get color and distortion. I write drone, ambient music. I'm new to tape recording. since I do not understand this, I would like to hear your opinion about these machines, which should be paid attention to. If possible, arrange them in descending order. In my region I managed to find used decks: Nkamichi 480, TEAC W-6000R, Tascam 112 MKII, Akai CS 702 D II, Marantz model 5050 M, Philips N5361 MarkII, Sharp RT-6, Sony TC-K 600, Technics M10, SHARP RT-31, NAD 613, AIWA AD-R650, Dual C824

Thx:)

I have 5 decks but none of those, sorry ...

In general, I would advise to look for a 3-head deck ... separate heads optimized for record, erase, and playback ... allow for real time monitoring and some incorporate fine bias adjustment. Usually built to a higher standard, and although many 2-head decks are built to lower price points some mfrs (eg. Nak) can build high quality 2-head decks. Just need to do some research.

(FWIW, my current favorite I have is Denon DR-M44HX ... 3-head, direct drive, auto EQ, but no manual bias adjustment.)

You said that you need deck to get distortions. That's a little contradictory because decks are not made to make distortions.
For that I would buy cheapest deck possible, and randomly turn every trimmer inside, than you would get whole kind of distortions.

If you are looking for the best deck, then narrow it down to the Sony, Tascam, or the NAK
