Which digital streaming option is best?

I am about to purchase a Cambridge CXA81 to replace my NAD C326BEE which has a bunch of digital inputs and a seemingly respectable built in DAC. It also has a USB audio input. With the upgraded amp, I was thinking about upgraded methods of streaming.

Currently my streaming is usually done with a relatively cheap USB adapter from my phone and into RCA inputs into the NAD amp. Occasionally I will plug my MacBook in using a phono-RCA adapter. Usually sounds decent enough for the purposes of background music.

Here are three ideas I had:

1. iPad/iPhone using Airplay to 3rd gen Apple TV through optical output to CXA81

2. iPad/iPhone with USB adapter to the USB audio port of the CXA81

3. ChromeCast Audio through optical out to CXA81 (would need to buy the CCA)


Would all of these equally provide a high quality option that would improve on my current bluetooth option? If I were running Tidal/Qobuz or some equivalent on all of these devices, would one provide a preferable signal to the others?

Option #1. Try this and see how you like the sound. I'm guessing you already have the Apple TV.
Option #2. Only try this if you don't like the sound of option #1.
Option #3. I use CCAs (one at main system and one at headphone setup) daily streaming AMHD and love it. Problem is the CCA is getting both more costly and more scarce.

I really like the Chromecast Audio device. But as mentioned above, people are selling them on eBay for much more than their original cost... which I think was $35.

Option 1, if you already have the Apple TV. I use the 3rd gen Apple TV in 2 of my systems with the optical out into a stand alone DAC and it sounds great.
