which is better?

So, I have a Technics SL-Q350 that I have just fitted with the Grado Black cartridge and it sounds good.

But a friend of mine has just offered to give me a Technics SL-QD2 for free.

Is there any real difference in these two tables that would make me want to take that offer and get rid of the Q350? Or are they pretty equal, quality wise?

I dunno- but for free, i'd try them out.

Or, run both.

I've said it before- turntables are like testicles- man can live with one, but two are preferred.

My guess is your playing in the same ballpark with both of those..they look very similar. I've had one of those, or a similar model in the past (many of the P-mount technics look the same). If it's free, why not just compare?

Yes they are equal.

Right, they are essentially the same--just full auto vs. semi-auto.
