Which JBL? C35?

Looking for information on the speakers on this CL ad:

http://fortwayne.craigslist.org/eld/3396435525.html

Maybe C35 cabinets? They have the D130, 15" woofers.... I've seen & heard these, very nice, but they only have a 70's receiver connected, tuner, only. It was hard to get a good "feel" for what they could do with that set-up.
They are pretty.... and pretty big! Any insight would be appreciated, I'm going back next week to look at them, again. :scratch2:

Thanks

A little pricey at $1,400.00 IMO.
The name of the place is Speaker Workshop ??
If the D 130's have been re-coned,they aren't worth as much as original cone D130's.
Unless I really had to have them,I'd probably offer about $800.00.
But only if I was buying them to keep.

Yep, Speaker Workshop. I'm not a buyer at $1,400.00, by any means. I would try to get them under $900.00, if they are C35's, which I believe they are.

The owner wasn't there the other night when I stopped in to see them, so I haven't seen the drivers or inside the cabinet. I'm trying to do my research prior to looking at them a second time.

As the owner of C35s, those look home-built to me. A shot of the back would tell. Unless it's an optical illusion, the front edge should be flat, not beveled, though the veneer on the front was cut at 45-degree angles, and the baffle and grille cloth are recessed quite a bit. I've had the 030 load for over fifty-years. There's a lot out there that sounds a whole lot better for that kind of dough. (Like three pairs of L7s. Or two pairs of L150As.) Don't get me wrong, I love the sound of the D130 but they don't play low and there's a big hole in the middle even with the 075 crossed-over too low. If it was the 001 with the 130A and the LD175DLH, and if the cabinets were real JBL, the money could be justified. Otherwise they're worth the value of the drivers parted out and that's about it.

:dunno:

Here are the real deals:

The front edges are bevelled in. They have a deep recess, as deep as your pic, but the bevel makes it look shallow. The backs looked legit, I should have snapped a pic with my phone (I forget I can do that). When I go back, I'll take a better look at he rear panel. I've tried to find some rear panel pics on the net, but haven't come up with any.
Again, all they had connected was a receiver with only the tuner operational, so, the sound quality of the source was marginal.
