Which of Today's bands will be Tomorrow's Classics

The continued popularity of "classic rock" bands is more of a reflection on the lack of imagination and head-in-the-sand nature of their audience than it is an indication of a lack of new music that is worthwhile.
As for bands big enough to continue to attract the attention of people that don't pay all that much attention to new music (which is basically the classic rock set, and will be the new classic rock set in the future): Radiohead, The Flaming Lips, m83, The National, The Black Keys, The White Stripes or whatever else Jack White is into, Sigur Ros, Wilco, Arcade Fire, Daft Punk, maybe Interpol, maybe Modest Mouse and other things like that. Indie-ish rock stuff that crossed over. Of course, some schmuck with be dancing to Train the way that some people of my generation still turn up The Spin Doctors but so be it. Popularity and "classic" don't really have much in common.

Collective Soul, Gin Blossoms, Blind Melon, 311, Sublime, Pearl Jam, Oasis, Stone Temple pilots, Weezer, Soul Asylum, no-doubt, Pink, Britney?, Christiana A. Fiona apple, Alanis Morissette
Come to mind for me, but they all definitely stretch the 10yr look-back limit. I don't think any of the bands/artists already mentioned have yet faded into obscurity, but do i see a best of coming out anytime soon either. If they will even do those anymore.
Does anybody else the the strong female vocalist domination of the last 5 years overpowering any boy band or "heart throb"
I can see a future grab to the '90s and '00s for the currently missing "mainstream" male element in music.
I have tunnel vision when it comes to the indie and hipster music scene. Please enlighten if need be. I just cant stomach one more college kid with his beer gut flopped over a pair of skinny jeans. Though i did wear 36" pant leg Jencos in the 90's and must have looked equally as stupid.

I have a feeling music is going the way of many other things in our disposable society...use once and throw it away. Artists will slip away and be replaced by more generic artists. No looking back.
