Depends on the efficiency of your speakers. If you have something really efficient (95dB or better), the Marantz will make you pretty happy. It is only 15WPC, the Technics has 8 times that. So if your speakers aren't efficient, the Technics would be the better choice. Looks like a well built amp to me. I really like my 2015, I can tell you that much.

Unless you have Klisch K'horns and then the 2015 will get them to levels that will more the satisfy and not sound thin.
I agree that the Marantz may be a bit underpowered for many speakers. It will depend on the efficiency of the speakers you are using. Also, the impedence will be a factor.

In my experience the Marantz will give you a smoother, richer sound. The technics will deliver for want of a better term "technical" sound.
This is of course subjective but having started my audio odessey back in the '70s with Marantz and Superscope gear I can vouch that the famous Mrarantz sound is very pleasing over long listening sessions.
If your looking for face peeling volume then the 2015 is far too low power but will drive most speakers to decent volumes. Make sure you don't try to drive low impedence speakers 4 ohms or less too loud for too long, the Marantz has some reserve but will start to feel the strain.

As an investment or as a receiver to put into use?
If it is indeed an investment, Marantz may already be at the "sell high" level with Technics possibly an unrealized potential since I've never heard of that model.
Now if you just want to "listen" to one or the other, I think we need to know more about your intended use. Type of speakers, listening area dimensions and environmentals, what kind of music you listen to and at what levels, etc.
Deeper, more full sound? To choices are again, very dependent on what you are driving. Watts aren't everything, I've heard systems with max outputs of less than a watt sound "deep and full".
Personally I think the Marantz 2xxx line of receivers are over rated. But that's just my opinion, I'm sure others will disagree.

Let me swim against the current. Every Marantz I've heard seemed overrated to me (I own five Marantz receivers, none really big), and every Technics receiver I've heard sounded at least as good (I own four currently and have had two others), if not better. I'm not saying that Marantz sucks, far from it, but the passion of their followers never seemed completely justified to me.
And 15 watts vs. 120? Come on! Unless you only listen to music with no dynamic contrast, then watts count! Sure 15 watts can drive efficient speakers to decent levels, but where's the reserve when it's needed? And what if you find a cool pair of speakers you like that aren't efficient?

If its a warm sound you're looking for I think I would be looking elsewhere, not because they aren't both great units. While the Marantz will likely have a warm full sound, why buy a 15 watt receiver as your main go to guy? the Technics is a great amp, but it's not going to have that warmth you're looking for, rather a clean, precise sound with lots of power behind it. Personally I would jump on the Technics, but I'm biased
