Most audio companies do well to keep parts for their gear 10 years. Most don't even do that. The GX 747 also has those motorized loading arms and if they fail, bye bye working deck. Akai has been defunct since the early 1980's. This is one of the last expensive decks I wish to own with the high odds of that fancy gadgetry failing. ReVox is better all round where it counts. And it is a lot easier to repair if you have problems. And parts are still available to boot. Most B 77 decks you will find are 1/4 track, 3 3/4 IPS-7 1/2 IPS models. :tresbon:
