Which speakers pair best with my Marantz 2220B?

Hi all, looking for some expert advice...I recently got my first Marantz :beerchug: which I really like, and I'm looking to pair it with some bookshelf speakers. I'm currently connecting Sony SS-U3030's which are decent, but I'm hoping to improve the sound quality. Here's what I'm looking at...

Micca MB42X (new, Amazon) - I love the size and there are tons of positive reviews
Mission 760i (eBay) - Cool vintage units, also with positive reviews

I'm open to other recommendations but I want to keep them under $150 and under 14" high. They're for a relatively small room, about 12x16. I'd like something clean/crisp with punchy bass.

On a side note, I hadn't heard a Marantz in over 20 years, and was blown away by the amazing sound. It wasn't a $5 garage sale find, but I think I got a pretty good deal at $150 on LetGo. I cleaned it up and replaced the lamps with LEDs.

I have a 2220B that I picked up years ago for $50. I am impressed with it too. It pulls in stations better than my 2270 and my 2230. I don't use it much anymore.

Look for efficient speakers, I had some Paradigm Phantoms connected to them, eight inch ported bookshelf speakers, very good for a small room.

JBL L16/L26 is another good option.
 
I have a 2220B in my workshop and drive a pair of DIY bass reflex Electro-voice enclosures using EVLS8 extended range drivers and they sound great to my 70 year old ears !!
 
A shame you don't have room for Imperial 6s. They are sublime with a 2220B . I had a set of Small Advents that sounded very nice with the 2220B.
