Which to keep?

I have too many turntables and wish to thin the herd. I will probably keep at least three or four and worry about decent carts after unloading the extras. How would you rank the following.........

Dual 604
Dual 1010
Dual 1245
Dual 1246
Dual 1257
Marantz 6025
Realistic Lab 395
Realistic Lab 440
Sansui SR-2050C
Sansui FR-D3
Technics SL-1950
Technics SL-Q2

That's the thing about getting an opinion around here.. You're gonna walk away more confused than before you asked.. :D
 
Dude : narrow it down : do you want to keep performance / looks / both? .....to my ears a good Dual belt drive has a lot going for it ....
If you are willing to re-plinth one (bonus in the looks department) it also changes it since some are way easier to re-plinth than others
As time roles on I realize that in tt terms : the meek shall inherit the earth : to me that means the simple tables will be around for a long time because they have generic (eg belts / no mechanisms to really worry about) parts and simple designs ....something to think about when you see some of the troubles in the vintage direct drive camp (parts availability) ...just sayin
 
Since I am a Dual fan, I would ditch all the Duals but the 1010.

If the 1950 has all three spindles and puck, I would keep that. If it is missing any of them, or the changer functions don't work, I would ditch that.

The Sansui SR is cool, and that is a nice old belt drive,. As far as a manual old school classic goes that is about as good and hip as it gets.

I think the Marantz turntables are nice, but they are CEC, like many of the Realistics. Ditch that, and the 440. The 395 is nice. Sell all the others.

So, with the 1010, 1950, SR2050c, and 395 you have some nice variations of turntables, all cool looking and good performers. When you die you can't take even one with you, so in essence they are all too many. But 4 is good.

Based on looks, but coincidentally all direct drivers. For some reason I am gravitating toward the direct drivers myself.

Please rank them, so I know which you think is best to worst. I was hoping to hear from hakaplan, but I like to hear from most of the rest of you guys too.

eb2jim, are you suggesting that I will die soon? How do you know? Do you have secret and esoteric knowledge beyond the ken of mere mortals, or are you just planning to kill me?

I only have one spindle and no 45 adaptor for the 1950, but I don't use changers or listen to 45s, so that doesn't bother me. A slightly larger issue is that it doesn't have a dustcover, but even that isn't too big a deal.

1. Technics SL-1950 ( I have an Sl-1700)
2. Dual 604 ( I have a Dual 604-Ortofon OMB 20 cartridge )
3. Realistic LAB 440 ( no knowledge )
4. Sansui FR-D3 ( no knowledge )

This is just for fun. :D
