So, I have posted recently about the Gates CB-77 broadcast turntable I found and am restoring.

It came with a Micro-Trak 303 tonearm mounted on the top plate of the deck. I got it up and running last night without a plinth and it sounds like it has a lot of promise. Only thing is I am thinking I want to go a step above the Micro-Trak tonearm... It does not allow for accurate alignment of the a more modern cartridge ( the two screw hole mounts are set in the metal headshell) or anyway to adjust azimuth for that matter. The Micro Trak being mounted on the top plate also doesn't help matters as there is more vibration this way...
Anyway, my plan is to restore this turntable and use it to play mono records in my system. What tonearms would you suggest for this purpose? Although I love the idea of a period-correct restore, I am ultimately wanting good quality playback performance. Something that wont break the bank and preferably vintage. I know this is kind of a broad question but please give me your suggestions.
Thanks so much!
